    DSX Lid Whine Results

Reason for my grok post is to state the obvious that it will likely take a twin screw blower to REALLY make it sound like a Hellcat. I had a '23 TRX for a while and the Hellcat engine is bada**. The LT4 is great too, but it's just plain quieter on the intake/blower side and that's by design...

    DSX Lid Whine Results

grok: The Dodge Hellcat and the Chevrolet LT4 are both iconic supercharged V8 engines, but their supercharger designs differ significantly due to engineering choices tailored to each brand's performance goals. Here's a breakdown of the key supercharger differences between the two: Dodge Hellcat...

EV Thoughts Thread: cause the old farts did their usual thing

Great write-up, Berserker! Thank you for that. Your thoughts echo may of mine and my Model S. It's just so easy to own and drive. You won't have to do probably ANY maintenance during your lease term either unless you just have to rotate tires or add windshield washer fluid. Does the Lucid...

Congrats on the pick-up! So, any preliminary driving impressions particularly as it's relates to your BW? Pros/cons, etc.?

EV Thoughts Thread: cause the old farts did their usual thing

If you do 40amps on a good quality 14-50 plug professionally installed by an EV experienced electrician, you will be absolutely fine. I've had mine for 2.5 years with zero issues charging several times a week on my cheapo Woshion charger (that still works perfectly).

EV Thoughts Thread: cause the old farts did their usual thing

Sounds like it's time to pull the trigger on the Pure! You'll really live EV ownership for the daily runabout tasks. It's just so easy to own. Software updates over the air, charging at night, no oil changes, no maintenance at all really besides tire rotation and windshield washer fluid...

    CT4-V CT4VBW vs. Porsche 911 (991 Carrera S) - Am I making a mistake?

For a daily replacement, the 4BW is superior. For weekend fun, 911 is hard to beat. I've had a few (991.2 GT3 and 992 GTS) and they are awesome, but the Blackwings are the total package for a daily car that can be fun when pushed. Agree with your strategy to replace the BMW with the BW and...

CT5-V Thinking of coming over from an AMG and have some questions.

OP, go drive one. I've seen and read many people coming from //M and AMG to the Blackwings, but very few go back to ze Germans. :m

EV Thoughts Thread: cause the old farts did their usual thing

It's not much of a gamble on a 2-3 year lease. Lucid isn't going anywhere anytime soon given their highly liquid benefactors. (PIF of Saudi Arabia, etc.) The Gravity SUV might actually get them on the path to an eventual profit too if the vehicle is very well received and they can crank them...

EV Thoughts Thread: cause the old farts did their usual thing

I have the 14-50 and a 40amp charger and it works flawlessly for our Model Y and Model S Plaid EV beaters. Easily charges overnight and install cost is relatively cheap. It was actually less than $200 brand new (on some crazy amazon discount) Woshion Chinese EV charger. I bought a Tesla...

EV Thoughts Thread: cause the old farts did their usual thing

Go for it! I have two EV's for daily for wife ('23 Model Y) and weekend family beater ('24 Model S Plaid). They both serve their purpose very well and I enjoy driving them both. It's a different experience and the thrust (especially on the MSP) is intoxicating. It just feels like a spaceship...

Does A Radar Detector Help Anymore?

Waze and V1 for me. I have like 6 V1's (3 gen 2) in my cars so I don't have to swap them back and forth. It's not infallible, but valuable information for me when picking through traffic at higher rates of speed.

    New Lyriq-V review

Yeah, but what is the cost for miles over the 20,000? Let's say it's 30 cents/mile, another 10k miles is $3k. Not chump change, but it's also another 10,000 miles. Also, if you need and negotiate extra miles when you are working the deal at the front end, you can normally 'buy' them for...

    New Lyriq-V review

Yeah, I have a '24 S Plaid and it's a punch to the stomach at WOT. Like my wife and kids go "My tummy hurts" after a few second full-throttle blast. :D That said 3.3 isn't anything to sneeze at. It's in the upper half of EV speed for sure. Very fast for a luxury SUV too. Imagine smoking...

    New Lyriq-V review

Looks great and great deal again! I like the 3.325% on the lease cost itself. That is fair. If my wife ever needs to get out of her Model Y (family hauler/beater), I'd look at something like this. Congrats again!

    New Lyriq-V review

Wow, guess you don't have to pay tax in NJ? In TX, you can have to pay 6.25% sales tax on the entire purchase price of the vehicle even for a lease. That's a great deal for 2 years to beat around in a nice EV SUV.

    CT4-V 4BW to C8, tempted

The DCT in the C8 has had issues, but it's still a fairly small percentage. In the 24+ cars, you don't need to add the extra oil anymore for track work. They redesigned the case or something to that effect. I've had no issues with my '24 so far with anything, even squeaks/rattles. It's been...

    CT4-V 4BW to C8, tempted

If you don't need the back seat, do it. I have a '24 Z51 C8 and my '22 CT5BW six-speed. If I never needed more room, I'd happily daily the C8. Just get mag ride (as you said you will do) and the performance exhaust and in tour mode, it is very comfortable and enjoyable to drive. As others...
