I dont know your car in particular, but i would suggest driving the car, and being a little careful to avoid the known issue- part throttle under mild to moderate load while the engine water temp is below 180. (driving up a hill/incline is typical) I don't drive my car aggressively until it is...
yes, obviously these tires are much more narrow than stock blackwing rear tires. in the snow, that is probably desirable. i can rotate them year to year this way
here is a summary of my parts:
wheels drag wheels DR-80 19x9.5, 5x120 pattern
tires nokian hakkapellitta 275/35-19 - i only could find them from one vendor on amazon although they are probably available lots of places earlier in season. i found simpletire.com nice to work with the year before...
Hello all - since a few people have asked me over time, here is what my winter solution has been:
Drag wheels DR-80 wheels (19x9.5") with Nokian hakka snow tires 275/35 - 19. they need hub rings 73 x 67.1 mm
the wheels are relatively inexpensive (made in china) but clear the brake calipers...
The cut outs have a block off plate to cap Them off. The washers go under the plate to space it open a fraction of an inch to make some more noise. I’m sorry I don’t have an easy link, but there is a posting from me from about six or eight months ago that shows pictures and the description of...
Look for my post many months ago. I put cut outs in front of the muffler. Cheap. Sounds amazing when wide open. I put washers as spacers under the block off plate for day to day. Then it’s loud but not too overwhelming. These are not electric valves. I just used cutouts.
IF the problem is the same as mine, (intermittent, sporadic engine surging causing the car to "porpoise" then tell them to speak to cadillac technical support and open a technical assistance case. the engineers will tell them what to do witout demonstrating the problem. for my repair, as...
Yes seems like it happened when water temp was below 180. For my car it is markedly improved since the “fix” but I can still feel it once in a while but not bad
Not sure if you saw it but there is an old discussion with 19” inexpensive wheels and snow tires. I ran them last winter. They are more narrow than stock rear which is what you want for winter.
I made it through the winter on the 19 inch wheels in the other posting. Yes the tires are less wide than normal especially in the rear but that’s actually desirable with snow tires. So I would give my combination a thumbs up for cost-effective, good looking, and very practical. If you think...
