If you buy it out of state (of CA) the dealer can do the work to register it in CA in which case you will not have to have it smog checked until at least 6 years later (by which time, the smog monitors should all be initialized). The dealer I ordered mine from in AZ registered it in AZ...
My car was ordered with the CA emissions option(YF5/NC7) from a dealer in Phoenix (based on my home address in CA). I did not choose "courtesy delivery" to my local dealer which would have avoided reregistering but I avoided my local dealer for a reason. I picked it up in AZ and drove it back...
My situation was with the CT5VBW and I've heard the Corvettes have the same issue but maybe the 4 is different.
Here's the information that applied to me: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10171875-9999.pdf
I had over 800 miles on the car and it still wasn't ready (500 miles driving...
You will have to have a smog check done to register it and you find out when they plug in their equipment. Even an AutoZone, eg with an OBD II tester should be able to determine if the smog system (O2 monitor) is “ready”.
I haven’t heard if there has been any improvement in the smog readiness...
I’ve started my 1st gen that way with a dead battery but I’m wondering if electronic parking brake would prevent that by not releasing when the battery is dead.

Mine was up for renewal recently too. I called the toll free number to ask a few questions and the person I talked to extended my free period by 3 more months while I "decide" after which it will go to the essentials plan unless I cancel in July. I let the data expire without renewing since I...
My order was one of first pre orders and there was no way to see what the bronze calipers would look like with the bronze wheels that I changed to when they became available (on infrared body). Rather than risk almost matching I went with totally contrasting to red calipers.
Maybe I got lucky but I only paid the $250 for the deductible buy down and had 1 guest. This was in Dec 2021 when I booked and the class was the first week of March.
You can bring non driving guest(s) for no extra charge. They will stay in the same condo room with you (no pets). There is a spa but I don’t recall if it’s open currently. The guests can ride with the instructors to the exercises to watch or go to the tower to watch the on track portions...
I emailed a few months ago to see if there would be a Cadillac corral since parking is ridiculously easy when they do and super close to the grandstand but for the second year in a row they are not doing a hospitality tent at Long Beach. I’ve never seen any perks outside of the corral and...
Everybody in the class I was in were matched to what they owned model/trans although one guy was moved to an automatic when the clutch apparently failed on their assigned car during one of the track sessions.
