What did you do to your Blackwing today?

Okay, this isn’t so much what I did to my Blackwing, but what my Blackwing did to another car: while driving through a residential neighbourhood with the exhaust in track mode, I made a parked car’s alarm go off when I drove past it. Priceless!

CT5-V Thinking of coming over from an AMG and have some questions.

I would have to double check but I don't recall it being quite that much even in Canadian pesos. The 24 was far more than that for me, though, as I loaded up on more expensive options on the new one.

CT5-V Thinking of coming over from an AMG and have some questions.

Must be only later 22s or after an update, then, because it never happened with my 22 but it pops up in my 24's in a way that is similar to the rear seat reminder as soon as I turn the engine off if my phone is still in the charging area.

CT5-V Thinking of coming over from an AMG and have some questions.

I owned a 22 and now own a 24 and there are at least a couple of tiny differences. One is that my 24 reminds me if I’ve left my phone in the charging area after I’ve turned off the car. My 22 never did that. The electronic display on startup is a little different, too, but the difference is so...

I thought I was agreeing with you?

    Media dumps

Apt analogy, even down to the jingoistic populism. I’ll say nothing more, though, as rubberduck makes a good point: the value of our opinions will only go down if we continue off topic on the tariffs and shit and it’s not why we’re members of this forum.

    Media dumps

... here's more: a tariff war means other countries will put tariffs on American products, which means they will be less competitive in foreign markets and that to the extent those products are components in other countries more highly processed products that come back, they are more expensive...

    R33 GTR as 4BW companion?

Big fan. Here’s my ‘93 MR2. It’s my around town car, the Blackwing’s more for highways. Every now and then I think of selling it and then I drive it and I think there’s no way I’m ever selling this. It’s faster, roomier, and more interesting than a Miata, which is the closest thing to it on the...

Order bank open date 2025 CT5V BW?

Black CT5s look good, too, but if you’re fussy (and I am), a black car only looks clean for about the first 5 minutes or so after you finished washing it. And in winter… fuhgeddaboudit!

Order bank open date 2025 CT5V BW?

I bought both my Blackwings from Disbrowe in St. Thomas. Small dealership, small town, but no waiting list for the first one and I was high enough the second time around that I even passed on an allocation for a 23 before pulling the trigger on my current 24. Phone them and other dealers, big...

About to Order, Engine Failure Questions

Google AI tells me that the lifetime risk of dying in a car crash in the United States is 1 in 93, or a 1.08% chance based on data from the National Safety Council in 2022. So that means if you only drive the BW from this date forward and no other car, there is a chance that you will die in it...

Order bank open date 2025 CT5V BW?

Not good. Important to keep them in the car in case you ever need to be towed or put on a flat bed. You don't want that to happen, of course, but you keep a spare tire even though you hope not to get a flat... oh yeah, never mind.

Is this a joke? OMG the drama! Sick to your stomach, awake at night? Sorry if I am not sounding very compassionate but your post is pretty out there and so take this as a bit of tough love. If you are really suffering this much, sell it. And for God's sake don't buy a Stellantis product if you...

Upcoming 11 hr drive in 5BW through cold and some rain. Thoughts?

Dry pavement is fine on straights and interstates, moderate rain maybe too, but I’d suggest taking it easy on the throttle in corners if you end up on any winding secondary highways. Leave all the nannies in place too, set to max, because they will help if things suddenly let loose.

Which gets us back to why - or at least maybe why - this thread has been hijacked about tariffs and other boring sub-topics and tangents, probably mainly by me. The question has been answered. Should you avoid buying this car because of worries about the LT4 blowing up? F*ck no! If it does, it...

New media / old media all want our heads to spin. Whether it’s CNN, Fox, YouTube, Instagram, X, Apple or Google newsfeed, Alsofans, whatever, outrage creates attention creates advertising revenue and we’re all worse for it. Including me. For example, my attention-span has been so f*cked up by...

If I might add something that the current and past Canadian administrations all agree upon and that is that free trade agreements requires fair trade policies between the trading partners, and the Chinese are not fair traders and so no free trade with them. Despite what should be an alliance...

About to Order, Engine Failure Questions

It’s very simple: there were always plants in Canada building Big Three cars and others. Until the 1960s, tariffs on both sides of the border meant that plants in Canada built cars solely for the Canadian market, and plants in the US built the same models for Americans. That was stupid, really...
