Exactly why I'm here asking this awkward question! Hah
I've had the car for nearly a year and I've never been able to determine if it is the way it is because its targeting comfort all the time (when not driving aggressively), no matter what mode, because it's a Cadillac.
Rdollie and I are more or less riding on the same roads. Ish. At least on the way to the dealership. And both in CT5.
(I'm south king county so it's not exactly the same, but there's really no total garbage roads around here)
That's part of the problem too, is at least in the immediate area...
Reviews everywhere be like
And I really have to ask... is this just reviewers being reviewers?
I'm very happy with the suspension in my car don't get me wrong. But when I switch between tour and track, I hardly notice a difference. When testing my wife (eyes closed, see if she can tell when...
It's a good idea to buy it, it's cheap. That said, there's no real risk of damage. Most of the course has a significant amount of gravel runoff. Not a single person went off track while I was there. There's a few areas where you could do some pretty good damage (run in to a wall) if you mess up...
I was there last week. The instructors said they can only do class sizes of 9. They want to do 18. But they just don't have enough cars. They even had to put a 4BW owner in to a 5BW. They don't own the cars, Cadillac provides them, so they're pretty much at the mercy of the goat rodeo
Coming from an (automatic) Chevy SS... probably not.
The manual 5BW marked an opportunity to go from one rare future collectable to a different rare future collectable, but this time with a manual :)
If I had a manual SS, I probably wouldn't have even bothered at all.
Maybe would have picked up...
For comparison sake (could be interesting to see if this has changed over time)

It'll be really interesting if tire rack takes you up on this offer.
There's very limited options in oem (or nearly oem) sizes. Like extremely limited options. If you're willing to step down to 275/35 in the rear you'll get a few more options, but that tire size still is not great as it's 0.5"...
I'm not explaining well. The XT5 shows
Gap distance
Lane keep
Current speed
Pedestrian alert
Cruise control mode / set speed
Active song/radio station
Nav instructions
All at the same time.
The CT5 has the same stuff, but not all at the same time.
It's probably a better user...
This threw me off too. I thought I was doing something wrong. The XT5 HUD is way more usable. The CT5 HUD in Tour by comparison is practically useless. That said, revs and speed are good enough to get the job done.
I've stalled it in stop and go traffic going up Seattle hills.
Though what we call hills would be a mountain in Texas ;)
On the flip side, I've also accidentally started in 3rd and only noticed because I had to slip the clutch an oddly long time.
What's up with the dip in the footwell? I've never had a vehicle with anything but a flat footwell. It's bordering on uncomfortable, and my heel will sometimes slip. Maybe I'm driving it wrong 🤔

My take at that time:
The CT5 BW is a great car, but there are compromises over the SS. The SS is noticeably larger, has significantly better storage, (objectively) better dash and door...
I started in winter. Picked it up Nov 23rd last year and immediately put snow tires on it.
To put it mildly, you need a light foot.
Since I've had more opportunities to mess with settings, wet PTM is really good. I didn't use it at all until I was back on the PS4s, but when winter rolls...

Here's the short version: the choices suck.
Some people had luck with 275/35/19, but this is technically taller than oem, so run at your own risk
Otherwise there's exactly one all season choice in oem sizes. And no snows.
