After 3 track days I can say I have no problems with it, I like the feel in the Blackwing a lot more than in the M3, the fine tuning feels much better to me.
Yesterday I did push the car a lot with the OEM pads the whole day went no1
The benifit of replacing rings only is a byproduct of having a rotor bolted to an aluminum hat with mechanical fasteners that permit the expension and contraction of the rotor with heat cycle, without the possibility to "move" the rotors would probably end up warped or crack prematurely.
I had vibrations after a track day that the abs engaged often, I'm at another fast track where I don't need as much braking and the more the day is going the less vibrations I have.
These OEM pads seem to be very sensitive to abs hot spotting, I had the same problem in my M3 but even worse...
Dealers I talk to for Blackwing allocations look at me like I'm some sort of Alien, when I start talking about track capibility, 2-piece rotors, bespoke compound tires and camber adjustment I see all the ?? In there faces 😅
The local dealer owner told me the other day to not worry if they get...
Seems like the article about is racing venture with the 4BW was giving the impression they developed something for him but your saying he probably just uses of the shelf pads.
Heinricy and Hawk Performance have worked closely to find and make a brake pad that mimics the friction curve of the...
Ppl who have the cash and want to be faster (straight line), have more instagram likes and use the car in bad weather will buy an AWD M3 or RS5 etc.
It just doesn't leave much market share for what the 4BW is. It would of been the best car in the world when the F series M3 lunched in 2014.
And compared to the 4BW the Manual M3 is boring to drive, on top of being less competent on track.
For anyone looking for a fun practical ride and even more so if you want to do track days, nothing beats the 4BW right now, it's really the best for this use case by a long shot. I hope they...
Placed my 2024 order with these seats, the more grippy micro-fiber/suede, softer seat base and 3000$cad saving sealed the deal.
I have the top tier leather in my auto right now and altrough I will miss the suede headliner, the massage and cooling arent deal breakers as its not my regular daily...
It clearly says in the owners manual to disconnect the battery to do a brake fluid flush.
Sorry for your misfortune, this is the reality of new brake-by-wire system, it was the same in my M3..
I have to agree, Essex have some really good marketing, I ran a full kit (baught used) on my M2 and my friend naughty a new kit for is M2 used and he took a huge loss when he sold it and we concluded it wasn't really worth it on a car that you could already swap pads from the top.
It makes more...
I was told here in Canada that I was supposed to keep a Blackwing for 6 months or be subject to not be able to buy another one, seems GM wants to stop the new car export. I was planning to swap to a manual one when it arrives beginning of August and then switch to my 2024 allocation when it...
I wouldn't get too hung up on trying to run larger tires/wheels. At my local track I did PB of 1,55.5 in my 2023 M3 running a square 295 set of Continental Extreme Force on lightweight forged wheels and just did 1,56 with the 4BW on my first outing on OEM PS4S.
Endurance tires like Hankook RS4...
The 4BW is so fun to drive I don't give a damn of its depreciation, can't be worst than my past BMWs anyways.
Just got allocation for a 2024 today woop woop
