The only constraints on my 24 order was the carbon packages but they also made a mistake and had the order sent with base seats also but went trough the correction and sent me the confirmation today with the mid seats like I wanted.
In the 4BW manual if I recall correctly they say -1.8 in the rear but I would only get them to -1.7 with the correct toe. Fine with me, I am surprised you were that far in your 5BW but this can happen sometimes.
Trust me after 3 G8X cars I confirm they are even worse in the track readyness aspect.
The other guys told the truth, if you want reasonable consommables you need 3000lbs or less or if you hover in the 3500-3700 not too much power, like they said it's just physics. My friend in is ZL1 1LE hangs...
I was thinking about your alignment equipment the other day and told myself I wanted to ask you what alignment settings you were using on your Blackwing. ?
This !!!! I got call for allocation and they keep me on the wait for confirmation after I send a build 10k lower than they expected with the suede seats, no sunroof, silver calipers etc.
The caddi dealers attitude is laughable.
When I joined the BMW forums in my M235i/M2 days there were a lot more driving enthusiasts lurking around, the track threads were populated and I was frequently saw serious track rats in the F8X forums.
Every year this has declined since 2017 and today the track threads go for days without...
It's astonishing the perception ppl have. I was the first to scoff at Camaros at the track only to be proven wrong. When ppl see my 4BW fly they all have that puzzled look lol
It takes time to change opinions.
Agree with what you said, this is also inline with comment from my friend who tracks his ZL1 1LE, once those super sticky Supercar3R's are done it's ice skating time.
I want to eventually come back to the Cayman/718 platform.. altrough I still have to give the edge to the Blackwings suspension...
Totally understand the part of not going with another 4BW and I can confirm having owned a 2018 718 GTS you will love it !!
I did two intense track days in the 4BW last week and I don't think the PTM sport would of saved it, I am starting to trust the car more and more, I now do laps in Race 1...
My problem with the Camaro is the vision, it's one of the worst cars ever. For the rest it's a better package for track usage, N/A engine with precise response, less weight and cheaper.
If the 4BW wouldn't of existed I would own a Camaro, these suckers keep pace with GT4s !!
I just came back from 2 days of intense track days with my 4BW and no problem what's so ever. This is my 3rd track day and pads are still good for one or two days (OEM). I am very hard on the brakes.
Sorry I don't agree, the selection is not bad at all, there are some great choices.
Falken Azenis RT660
Bridgestone Potenza RE71RS
Nankang CR-S
Hankook RS4
Dunlop Direzza ZIII
Khumo Excta V730
R888R
Hoosier R7 and A7
And probably others I haven't found yet.
