Exhaust sound with the rear seats down

^ Same, but after talking to the staff at Tapout, I feel better about it. There is a chance the CEL light may light up, but they say its definitely not the norm and only happens to a small percentage of installs. I'm willing to take the risk.

Exhaust sound with the rear seats down

I really like the factory sound and the muffler is part of the aerodynamics under the car, so I am not going to touch the muffler. I have a Tapout catted down pipe on the way, this will allow much more sound out the back with the exhaust open but will still be nearly as quite as stock with the...

Black lug nuts with Graphite Wheels, looking for a photo

I posted these in the performance section, but will add here for easy reference and comparison. I was weak, couldn't resist the Ti Temptation and was bad. PVD coated black Titanium open ended lug nuts below.

Exhaust sound with the rear seats down

Found I can transport my road bike in the 4BW with the rear seats down, just have to pull the wheels. This lead to finding out how much more awesome the car sounds with the exhaust open and giving it the beans! Really lets in more sound, shifting cracks (cant get enough of) and decel burble...

Burger Motorsport tunes JB4 inhouse CT4BW

'The "Meth" Triggered and Safety modes have me a bit concerned.

    Pulled the Tapout Bluebelt Trigger

This little tool was very handy.

    4BW - How many miles?

Not bragging, but I drive 40K + a year, 127 mi/day commute. At least 45 miles of it is 2 lane canyon road. Its hell on tires though. Only had mine for just over 2 weeks, 2K miles so far. Most of the time I drive like a little old lady, getting 22-23 mpg, but Ill have bursts of fun now and then.

Weird noise when you get out of your CT-V blackwing? (Buzz sound)

Many cars will pressurize fuel and brake systems when they detect you approaching. No idea about the noise when leaving the car, but I have heard this as well. Just mark it up as magic stuff in the background.

    Pulled the Tapout Bluebelt Trigger

@WONT TAP No worries, looking forward to working on the car, one of my pastimes.

    Pulled the Tapout Bluebelt Trigger

As long as the DP's don't cause codes, should not be an issue. But yes, no smog for 8 years.

    Pulled the Tapout Bluebelt Trigger

Going the full Monty with the JB4, Catted downpipes, T-Body... Going to stick with the stock plugs, but a new set on the way which will be gapped to 0.026". Photos and info to follow in the coming days.

Black Nuts (lug nuts) - Chrome vs Titanium; photos within

Keep in mind these are Titanium nuts, not steel like the OEM, some extra care needs to be had with Titanium. There are two schools of thought regarding using Ti lug nuts, one says clean the studs, do not use any lube/anti-seize and then torque at the factory spec. The other (I am in this...

    Jacking up your Blackwing

Doing the first oil change on my 4BW over the weekend, I found the bolt that runs though the aluminum front brace next to the lift cutout is about the best place to lift the front of the car with a standard floor jack. However, I could not find a good place to put a jack stand. But I have two...

Black Nuts (lug nuts) - Chrome vs Titanium; photos within

Warning, lug nut porn to follow. I really liked how much better the GM black chrome lug nuts looked over the stock chrome capped basic lug nuts. But two things, one, I was like Damn these weigh a lot more, and two, the black chrome gives almost a too polished of a finished look. The open ended...

288 Miles and an engine failure

@Nadnerb I hear you, I'm coming off an absolute nightmare of an experience with my Explorer ST, it spent the first 4 months of the 6 months I owned it in the shop. Ford did offer a buy back, but I opted for an 8 year/150K warranty. In hind sight I should have let them buy it back. I hope GM...

288 Miles and an engine failure

Forget the payments, get the warranty. If your furtunate enough to write a check for the full amount, chances are this is not your first or second car and being without it for a few weeks will only be an annoyance.

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

Pulled the wheels, cleaned and did a ceramic coating on the brake caliper (carefully) and the wheels. Applied some copper anti-size to the wheel lug studs and swapped out the standard chrome capped lug nuts for the black chrome GM parts.

Santa Clarita CA, other Blackwing owners

I know 23 and Balcom Canyon, I'll road bike those now and then. Dec 4th at the Car Show sounds like a good plan for any locals that can make it. I'm going to toss this out there as an idea for a future drive, route link below; https://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/5290692562/ Mix of tight...

Santa Clarita CA, other Blackwing owners

@Neveready Id be up for meeting at that car show, but I don't know of any good roads in that area. Sounds like a great place to meetup. @V Zaddy ACH is always fun and very scenic. Weather is going to get sketchy up there very soon. Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road is always a blast.
