    Carbon fiber PN database.

Yeah there are some annoying parts that had core charges that didn't make any sense. My second set of wheels had a $50 per wheel core charge which added $200 to the cost. I was also looking at a replacement trim piece for the dash that has since been corrected but originally was $30 but had a...

Has anyone “fixed” the ugly plastic piece below the infotainment screen?

👀 Had to redo the ct5 panel again which is frustrating. Cleared the ct4 and the trim pieces today. Going to polish tmw and then mount. Had 40mph wind gusts yesterday and decided that might not be ideal to spray clear coat outside 😂

Correct, My plan is to not install the dive planes. I'm getting the wheel well deflectors from tapout but will stop there in the front of the car. The hassle of getting the bumper off, reinforcing it on the backside and cutting out the holes isn't worth it to me for the look.

Has anyone “fixed” the ugly plastic piece below the infotainment screen?

dead simple, the less experience the better! I've been at this for a month just for shits, giggles, and internet points! joking aside, its not too bad. However, the smaller and curvier the part, the more of a pain it will be and more likely to get messed up. for the mirrors, they'd be ok since...

Has anyone “fixed” the ugly plastic piece below the infotainment screen?

I can confirm that it will be in between the cost of a banana and one million pesos. Once I break out the 'ol trusty abacus I can get that dialed in a bit more 😂

Has anyone “fixed” the ugly plastic piece below the infotainment screen?

Needs clear coat still but mocked up and looks pretty good. This was the first panel so it's a bit rough. I ended up redoing the ct5 panel as it had some issues that I wasn't pleased with. Using a 2k catalyzed clear coat so im unfortunately waiting until all pieces are fully done to spray it all...

    retrofitting CT5 display in CT4

nope, had some delays on the trim panels I was working on - ran out of resin - and got delayed a day and a half. I won't have time to try until next weekend now. sorry

Has anyone “fixed” the ugly plastic piece below the infotainment screen?

Still working on getting these really smooth and polished in my free time but here are some panels mocked up, just the triangle trim pieces, just the center bar, and both. Both might be too much carbon and look a bit tacky but I think either separate is a good improvement

    retrofitting CT5 display in CT4

thanks for the deep dive. my fear is if it is firmware/coding locked we are SOL. global B is heralded for its encryption, I doubt me asking for root access nicely is going to open it up. I'm trying to think what could be done to force a hard reset and force the system to do a hard boot where it...

Thanks! Remember when you guys said I shouldn't joke about proposing so much or she won't take it serious? well you were right and she told me to "get up".....twice. finally said yes, or something close enough, so it counts at least haha

    retrofitting CT5 display in CT4

Other notes of importance. The ct5 DID shop with the 8" display on base models up until ~2020 (original eBay screen was the 8inch and I didn't catch it when ordering). This means there should be a way to do this easily. I never went through parts diagrams to see if any other components had...

    retrofitting CT5 display in CT4

Ct4 here. Without the backing on the displays I was able to get the main board from the ct4 tied to the connectors on the 5. This is not a viable long term solution though as the ribbons will snap of I try and put it together.

This was from the new supplier and is dated June 21st 2022. I'd be curious how these look compared to the old supplier and if gm transferred tooling or needed to have the new supplier develop everything from scratch.

Yes the ribbon cable can be fully removed and has a lever clamp connector on each end. I have torn more of these cables than I care to admit and am always weary of trying to flex them too much. I'll keep trying to work around some solution and make friends with more electrical engineers at work.

Well hello beautiful. Some notes, this splitter is hella light. Like less than a pound. Truly was done as a race car part where weight and structure was key. It's only a few layers thick of carbon and super flimsy. The vacuum bag is also hilariously still stuck inside the cavity. Mounting was...
