As physics has taught us, traction is not a result of the tire's width. Traction is a result of the tire's compound and the coefficient of friction. Softer tires mean higher coefficient of friction - leads to better grip.
Wider tires allows for a greater contact patch (surface area). Greater...
This is a difficult topic. Something that I have beat myself up over.
2016 Silverado - being judged for knowing how to drive a 2WD 'not-a-real' truck in bad weather and being ridiculed for not being a 4WD truck
2018 Focus ST - why didn't you get the RS??
2017 Corvette Grand Sport - what's...
I’ve had a shipment notification for label creation for about a week now. Any idea how long to expect before it’s gets sent out after receiving label creation email from UPS?
I too removed the wheels for ceramic coating; did the face, barrels, and calipers. Decided that I would upgrade to carbon ceramic brakes and coated the rotors with ceramic, too.
Decided to change the oil this weekend in preparation for upcoming track day (1,669 miles - but 9 months old). Just...
I would agree that this was 'discussed' on that site, as well as other Corvette forums.
But aside from referencing the SDS's and Data Sheets on Mobil 1's website, it appeared as though no one was sharing actual laboratory oil analysis. So I chose to reach out to Blackstone Labs...
AutoZone does a deal where you buy Mobil 1 by the quart and add a filter and it’s like $40. Then you just return the filters. Comes out to about $6.5/quart. But retail price for ESP X3 is $11.50/qt.
So the rebrand was from ESP to Supercar. Those two are 100% the same and carry dexosR.
ESP X3 is actually a different oil, called for by performance Porsche vehicles and other euro cars. This carries dexos 2. But the lab report tells a story that they are virtually the same.
I decided that the debate needed to be officially settled. I sent off two virgin samples of Mobil 1 0W-40 for evaluation on similarities.
1. Mobil 1 0W-40 ESP X3
2. Mobil 1 0W-40 Supercar
I paid for the additional TBN analysis. I’d just say that the two oils are virtually the same. So similar...
I plan on sending them two virgin oil samples.
1. Mobil 1 EPS X3 0W-40
2. Mobil 1 Supercar 0W-40
I want to check what black stone has to say about it and similarities.
