I traded a 2017 M6 Camaro ZL1 Coupe for a pre-owned 2023 M6 5BW and haven't looked back.

I loved my ZL1. It was a show car and had received an All-American Sunday Award at Goodguys in 2022. The BW is just head and shoulders a better car.

Yes sir, I remember. I saw how Calloway cut out the bottom of the airbox in its Camaro builds. Thought I’d give it a try. I do find it interesting that the stock airbox on the CT5-V BW has an extra opening on the fender side of the box in addition to the snorkel opening.

Not so much traded in for, but had a 6M 2019 Mustang GT that I sold when we moved out of the country. Velocity Blue, Premium package, Performance Package 1, active exhaust. And got it brand new for dirt cheap (relatively speaking) so I loved that thing. I never worried about beating up on it and drove it like I stole it.

Drove around a POS 2005 Toyota Mark X for a few years while living overseas. I think I averaged 1,000 miles a year on it the entire time I had it, hated it. Funny thing is that when we moved back I borrowed my FIL's 2019 Tacoma TRD Sport for a few days while our Bronco Wildtrak was delivered and the Taco drove and felt almost identical to that POS Mark X. I've always loved the way the Tacoma TRD Pros look, but had never driven one and now I can't see myself ever owning one, it was terrible imo. Anyway, now I have a 2023 5BW in Summit White with the midtrim seats and cool race car red seat belts.

Had instant regret. After BW was delivered, I bought a 2019 ZL1 1LE.

as a gt500 owner i consider trading for a 5BW all the time but wonder if i would regret it. you seem to track quite often though... a jack of all trades car sounds nice

2021 GT500. Wanted 4 doors and a manual.

how is that going? I currently have a 21 CFTP, Every winter I strongly consider trading it and ordering a 5BW. Car rides OK on the street but is a monster otherwise. Looks amazing too. But i do want the comfort of a caddy , seats especially and being able to cruise. Not sure which i would be happier with ( first world problems i know )

Just wondering your experience and what you miss about the shelby vs what you love about the caddy

I sold my GT350 to make way for a 5BW. The GT350 is not nearly as much power as the GT500 but it offers a similar experience compared to a 5BW. I have not taken delivery of it yet so I cannot say if there will be any regrets. I certainly understand giving up a car with a very visceral experience is tough. No doubt the GT350/GT500 is a modern classic.

I think it depends what you value. I plan on retiring in a year and wanted a car I could take on long road trips with my wife with more room. Plus having something I could take to the track occasionally. The GT350 is a great car but not a great long distance car for comfort and relaxation. The 5BW is more luxury and quieter while still offering a great driving experience. At least that is what everyone says. I will find out in about few months.

man that is such a beautiful car. I wish they would bring back the hood scoop. Its subtle but makes such a big difference in appearance.

GT350 is the only modern Mustang I lust for. I think its the pinnacle of Mustangs...even over the (fantastic GT500) if only due to MT....but what a great engine in the GT350. Still I see that its not a practical all around driving car as the 5BW will be. While not GT350 thrills in many respects I think the 5BW will push enough buttons....and do everything well....you won't regret. Now the frequent trips to th gas station might get you down...but there is always a price. I'm still not sold on EVs...regardless of speed performance as IMO they can't give the visceral pleasures like a GT350 or these BW cars. MT is a big part of that but not all...

I passed over many other cars due to lack of MT. I love that GM is offering it in a Cadillac when even the Corvette does not. Crazy!

I genuinely think Cadillac took a step back with the blackwing on styling. The single deciding factor on me turning in my 2017 was I wanted a manual. That was it. Full stop.

GT350R and 5BW 6sp owner here. Interestingly, I find my 350R Recaros more comfortable for longer trips than my 5BW with the sky cool gray seats. I took the 350R for a 3k mile roadtrip out west a few years ago and did several days of over 700 miles with zero issues. The BW seats just aren't as comfortable for me and I squirm a little after maybe 90 minutes. Also, the 350R gets better mpgs cruising at high speeds than the 5BW does and they have similarly sized tanks.

As for the driving experience, I always joke about the 350R being an OHMYGODMYHAIRISONFIRE kind of car, meaning it's rowdy as heck and wants to be driven harder and harder. The 5BW is a calmer experience because it's quieter and a little more distant feeling, the engine doesn't rev out as hard and has so much torque that you don't go WOT nearly as often. But . . . the 5BW is an absolute animal once you get confidence in it. It LOVES being driven like an animal and gets better and better the harder you push on a back road. If it had a better sounding exhaust and an engine that rev'd another 1000rpm, it would be even better.
