I'm at 2k miles. 2024 4BW. Definitely wasn't there 500 miles ago. Is this normal? You will hear a squeak right at throttle tip in. Hot, cold, doesn't matter. Throttle response and rpm ramp is a little shudderry/not smooth but I was told this aspect atleast is a little normal.

Hard to hear by itself but as soon as you are near a wall or in a garage it's really apparent. Link below to google drive, can't seem to upload the video here.

if it’s this sound, it’s completely normal. Large TB sucking in air.

Yeah definitely not that. My sound is higher pitch and sounds like a mechanical rub not air movement imo. Thanks for the feedback

Hey guys, now that it’s 2025, has there been consensus on what the actual issue is with the throttle tip in squeak? I have a 24 CT4V BW with 4k miles and it’s making this noise only at throttle tip in. When in accessory mode (car off) it squeaks. So from that diagnosis it’s not the turbos or wastegate but must be the throttle body. Has anyone determined if this is an actual issue or just an annoyance? Would love to try to close this mystery out for the whole community.

Seems the general consensus is the throttle body. Mine was replaced and it went away, but, they did also replace a turbo at the same time.

Ok. That’s good to hear that it’s the Throttle Body. If I go in would you say to request not to change out the turbo? I’d like to have minimal repairs by the dealer if a Turbo isn’t really needed. Was there an actual TSB issued on this yet? Thanks for the quick response!

No bulletin as far as I know. And also...this engine isn't exactly new. I get being a little paranoid with dealers and not wanting them to do anything, but if you bring it in and they tell you the something is wrong with a part, they aren't making any money off you and you have a warranty for a reason, let them fix it.

Totally agree. However I had heard the turbo was a miss diagnoses. It also adds a lot of work vs a simple Throttle Body. I guess I’m just questioning is this a turbo issue or not?

On my 2024 they're replacing the turbo for that sound. Who knows if that's the source, but GM has instructed the dealer to start there. I'll let you know if it works if I ever get my car back.

Thanks! I’m still not convinced it’s the turbo. Do we have any GM or Dealer Techs here who can definitively cover off on the Turbo vs Throttle Body issue? Also, anyone here local to Philly or Delaware? Debating between Bergy’s vs Delaware Cadillac.
