Subwoofer Install

Has anyone tried installing a sub and LEAVING the ANC activated?

That would be my preference, in order to keep the wind noise cancellation and drone cancellation in effect.

Leaving the ANC active with any aftermarket sound equipment is usually impossible. I was looking at adding a sub to my 1LE, but the ANC couldn't be bypassed. And I wanted to leave that as the car was loud enough already. And if I do anything to my BW, I will NOT be losing my ANC!!!

Has any pro installers or experienced DIY folks been able to put together a full list of required parts? Im researching so I can try a DIY install.

After a year of waiting to install my collection of goodies, I've finally mustered the time and effort.

4BW. Infinity Kappa 10" sealed and JL Audio RD500/1 with LC2i. Hope to have it wrapped up in a day or two. Really looking forward to some extra low-register grunt. ANC work around TBD.

So did you get some aftermarket wiring integration or you just splicing in to original wiring of the car? How did it go?

I have been holding off on having some subs / amps put in mine. I used a company LLJ customs for my 2021 2500 chevy to get the harness when no others had a harness and it worked great (about 3 years ago). Its seems in last year to year and a half they may have issues though as their reviews have absolutely been bad news.

This is about the simplest install one could wish for. Used t-taps for signal source from the rear shelf factory woofer. I have a ANC bypass harness....not sure if it would actually work. It's not in place right now. After accumulating some seat time I'll determine if ANC is problematic.

But for now, it sounds incredible and the overall install was pretty easy.

Any update for us????

Where did you tap for Remote? Is there something in the trunk that can be use?
Finding a 12V switched power source isn't necessary with the LC2i. It senses the signal from the t-tapped factory woofer. I did however run a remote wire from the LC2i to the amp.

Did you split the single woofer output to both the L/R inputs of the LC2i?

Hey, I tried installing an amp and sub but I keep getting the engine/exhaust noise through the sub. How are you bypassing this issue? Is there something I’m missing. I have a 2023 Blackwing CT4.

I don't have the car yet, but I saw that no one has responded. It sounds like a grounding issue. I would check your ground and all wire connections. Any non-ground wires touching the metal of the car could cause it.

As mfcentex stated, check connections first. Grounds and signal path. Photos and/or a description of components used would be helpful. If those avenues don't alleviate the noise, there's a couple more options for the ANC bypass.
