Any coating on titanium is subject to being worn down over time. Raw titanium will maintain that basically forever. If you had to compare the two, then raw would win for sure. However, a 12 point socket that only makes contact at the corner of the hex wont really be wearing down much surface...

Very close. Awaiting the prototype to arrive this week. Then I can test fit and get rocking. I made some small changes to make it fit even better for models without holes drilled.
