Does A Radar Detector Help Anymore?

Like several others here, I think this sums it up pretty well. Having a detector helps; nothing more. After driving with them for years, I feel inhibited without one. Like driving with one eye closed. More information is better. Keep your head on a swivel. I'm surprised at the number of...

What do you do for a living?

Small business owner. Two kids in college, so retirement is not yet in the discussion.

Those who owned a CTS-V and/or SS and now Own a CT5-V BW- Comparisons

I tend to agree. I owned a '16 SS for over five years. I loved it. In fact if it hadn't been stolen, I would almost certainly still be driving it and I wouldn't have a 5BW. I'm not sure I get all the love being lavished on the SS interior -- especially compared to the 5BW. It was nice...

    The Blackwing Spotting Thread

I passed a black 5BW in my neighborhood earlier this week -- only my 2nd ever confirmed sighting of one in the wild. And of course, it's the first week in the 3+ months since we got ours that I wasn't driving it (supposed to rain here all week). I was in my Yukon, so the driver had no reason...

    Anyone else get this notification?

I got it yesterday, too. But it went away, and I'd forgotten all about it. Weird.

PPF Installer in Central TX (Austin, Dallas, San Antonio)

I used Performance Clear Bra in Fort Worth. They did PPF on the front, ceramic coating all over (including wheels) and tinted the windows. They did a great job and were very professional and easy to deal with. Highly recommended. Ask for William Colon (pronounced like cologne).

    Dogs/Pets

Meet Molly. Occasionally cute, but always a pain in my ass. It's like having an hyperactive raccoon in the house. I really miss my Lab, Ruger.

    Signature Wheel's Cadillac Blackwing Adventures

I'll have to let Terrance explain what is meant by "OEM+" with respect to offset, backspacing, etc. My request was to have 19x10s & 19x11s that were direct-swap replacements for the OEM wheels, allowing me to mount the original tires using the original lug nuts and TPMS sensors. No spacers...

    Signature Wheel's Cadillac Blackwing Adventures

Thank you. We're very happy with them. Here are are few more pics. And I'll add that the buying experience was just as first-rate as the wheels themselves. Terrence is a pleasure to deal with. The wheels arrived on time, in perfect condition, and were exactly as ordered. They mounted and...

PDR and Surround Vision Camera Recording

Interesting. I've never encountered that before. FAT32 is definitely a dinosaur and it's frankly surprising that it works with large volumes at all. It could be that I'll encounter the same problems as the card fills up. We'll see...

PDR and Surround Vision Camera Recording

Well, now you're taxing my poor memory -- which admittedly doesn't take much these days. I used either Disk Utility under MacOS, or this free utility for Windows that was recommended in another thread on this forum with Windows 10 under VMWare Fusion on my Mac. I know for sure I...

PDR and Surround Vision Camera Recording

Odd… I wonder why. On the off chance it matters, this is the SD Card I'm using. I originally bought two the 256GB version, hoping to use one in the PDR, and the other in the SVR. It worked perfectly right out of the package in the PDR -- no reformatting necessary. It did NOT work in the SVR...

PDR and Surround Vision Camera Recording

Yes, the files play back just fine on my Mac. I'm using VLC Player Version 2.2.6 Umbrella (Intel 64bit) under MacOS 10.15.7 (Catalina). Having set VLC Player as the default app for AVI files, I simply double-click on the desired file in the Finder, and it opens and starts playing instantly...
