CT5-V Steel option for CCB rotors

Greg at Electron Sport worked with them. I just helped him out with the rotors to measure.

CT5-V Steel option for CCB rotors

The CCBs on the 5BW are a different type than on the Corvette in that they have an additional friction coating. Mine has a fair bit of track time and the rotors are not showing any signs of wear. If you want a set of iron replacements, I worked with Electron Sport to get Alcon to make iron...

    Squeaking Seat Backs

In my case, it was only an issue for the passenger seat at a specific seat angle. Try just reclining it a bit.

    2025 PDR

I just looked at the data from my 22 5BW and it has 65 data channels. A lot depends on what you are counting though, probably a dozen of those are related to the functioning of the PDR system itself (SD card perf, CPU load, camera temp, etc.). Also, each tire has 3 channels for tire pressure...

    Track rats rejoice!

The car is tuned to a certain balance of front to rear grip as well as spring rates that affect this balance under load. This shows up as degrees of under/oversteer at the limit. The tires themselves are big springs so a change in sidewall stiffness can significantly affect balance (that’s...

    Track Day Tires

I instruct for them. One benefit is that I can go out whenever I don’t have a guest/student.

    Track Day Tires

Most time is going to be found by when and how you pick up the throttle, as well as managing your speed heading to the apex (e.g. rolling more speed longer). It’s very tough to see this through video. I’ve been to WGI a couple of times and would like to go back, but I doubt I’d bring the...

    Track Day Tires

Do you have the PDR and did you record any sessions? This data dive was with my 5BW, but might be useful for understanding how to improve lap time.

    Track Day Tires

Heinricy demonstrated it could run a full T2 race and win on Hoosiers - so it certainly can handle stickier tires. I always tracked my 5BW on stock tires because frankly they are very good and I didn’t see a reason to add more grip. Both John and I also ran dedicated track alignments, so...

    Track Day Tires

John Heinricy was running Hoosiers on the 4BW he campaigned in T2. I believe there was another thread a while back about slick sizes where several of us had done some research.

    Motorcycles, anyone?

I ride a 1300GS and love it. My area is full of gravel roads that very few cars drive on. I’ve also done the MABDR a couple of times and it’s really fun to be out in the middle of nowhere with just what you can carry on the bike.

    2025 CT5 & CT5-V Blackwing Order Support Guide

CCBs perform fine when cold, they also have more initial bit if you take the time to burnish them. The true Motorsports carbon carbon brakes (different construction) need temp to work properly, and that’s one of the reasons you don’t see them in road applications.

    Michelin PS4S issue

I don’t think that .28 deg vs .19 deg total toe is going materially affe t tire wear. The left to right difference is just how straight the steering wheel is.

    Michelin PS4S issue

I am running the track alignment and have that wear but haven’t let it get down to where it split like yours. I align myself and know the toe is correct, so it must be the camber. My theory is that if you do a lot of long highway driving with the track alignment that part of the tire gets...

CT5-V Carbon Ceramic Brakes and Track Durability

I don’t think this has been posted here, but I joined a FB group about carbon ceramic brakes and there was a question about the difference between the 5BW and Corvette CCBs. The reply from RB is below, but it explains why I’m seeing good wear and why they also have a min thickness on the rotors...
