Tires are the most important part of a vehicle. As an engineer, track instructor, and genuine car enthusiast I cannot physically understand why someone would buy significantly worse tires in every single quantifiable measure than even the OEM tires.
Absolutely! I'm still looking, and haven't lost ANY steam in doing so. Realistically I just need one before next racing season, but I'm already stacking up parts in the meantime.
They actually don't carry the VS-5RE in 4BW fitment, so that sorts out that problem for you lol. Don't be worried about running the sprint line - I have 20+ track-days on a set and we run them on our endurance car... We bounce off curbs all day and they're fine.
Stock pads are excellent. In fact, from one GM brake cal-engineer, he's said they've never seen anyone get to the 2nd level of the brake fade message organically. AKA, unless you have 600whp, hoosiers, and are an absolutely maniac you'll struggle to find a better option than stock.
Bumping this. There's been some awesome suggestions (thanks for those, guys). Still in the market, but I'm refining the search further to only be red (tincoat or radiant).
