    Thanks everyone for your responses. I think I will just get the insurance for complete peace of mind. Having wife do the course and she has never driven a car on a race track. Want her to feel free to run to her limits without worrying about hurting the car.

    That's why I ordered the base seats. The fancy seats looked very vulnerable to the issue you bring up. Hope you find a good solution.
