2016 Cadillac ATS-V Sedan

Over the years, Cadillac has always had either one or two V-series models in production as seen with the CTS-V and the now defunct, 2006 – 2009 Cadillac XLR-V.  A couple years ago, Cadillac introduced the Vsport package available on the CTS, and XTS models, however some V-Series purists felt that this was a pathetic marketing move by Cadillac to extend and dilute the V-Series formula, similar to what BMW has done with their legendary M line.

However, fear not rabid V-Series Cadillac fans!  According to The Detroit Bureau, Cadillac has big plans to extend the V-Series line-up!

Cadillac is working hard at rolling out eight new models – five of which are slated for new market segments – by the end of the decade.  According to Cadillac Chief Engineer, Dave Leone,”The ‘V’ will be on more models than today”, although not all models will receive a V-Series.

Right now, the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V and ATS-V will be starting production soon.  We have been hearing rumors that the all new CT6 could get a V-Series massage as well, and Cadillac officials have not denied the potential for another two-seat Cadillac sports car; ala 2004 – 2009 Cadillac XLR.

Regardless of what Cadillac has in store, we should be seeing more V-Series Cadillac models down the road!
