I modified the suspension on my S4 with KW V3 coilovers, adjustable sway bars, drop links, transmission crossmember, etc. it was about $5K 12 years ago. The handling vs. stock was impressive. On the medium setting my teeth would chatter driving around town on crappy roads. For track only I think...
Many years ago I drove my S4 through a massive sand storm in the desert and it literally sand blasted my paint and had to take it to a pro. I was on a major highway and had few options, except for turning around and going back and waiting.
There is a lot of useful info on the Obsessed Garage support page. I purchased quite a bit of items from the website. I made extensive use of the aluminum tubing and fittings in my setup. Makes assembly and routing a breeze and professional looking...
I prefer an electric pressure washer and have an AR Blue Clean AR630-TSS. I use a 4.5 nozzle and that gets me around 1100 psi (I have a gauge) and 2.5GPM. My cannon is an MTM Hydro PF22.2 with 3.0 (1.1mm) orifice. I have a McKillans gun which is ok, but would like to upgrade.
I have another...
I’m not sure there’s as many modes as people think there might be. It could be a placebo effect. The suspension and engine/shift (and likely braking and steering as well, but can’t confirm that) are tied to the PTM setting. The PTM toggle forces the other settings. The PTM toggle is a quick way...
That’s pretty bad water. I test chorine in my water from our small neighborhood well and can’t detect any. The TDS reading is 160 which is about medium. I use about 35gal total to wash a car. In the summer I can use 9000gal/month for watering trees.
My preferred method and what I currently use is a pressure washer with filtered water. Rinse, foam canon, rinse, natural drying. No towels are involved in any step of this. The reason to use a pressure washer for all water steps is to not use an excess amount of water through the filters which...
I was out of town when my car arrived and when I got to the dealership about one week later it was inside the showroom. Dare I say they also washed it, but it didn't matter as it was going to the detailer/PPF shop right away.
Bottom line, for most people the 4BW is the practical decision and the 5BW is not. I have absolutely no need for the 5BW, however, I never want to sell it.
Even though I've never driven the 4BW I would agree based on my experience with V6 ~500 hp cars like the B8 S4 I owned. Great car and was looking for a different kind of experience (a V8 experience). The 5BW is obviously too much power for the street, but when I do tap that power, like on a...
Aggressive drivers (maybe erratic is a better word) I back off their ass to leave room in case they cause another driver to freak out. What I meant was tailgating, weaving in and out of lanes, and cutting off people. In general just being a nuisance. I’ve seen fast cars doing that, but more...
Maybe they don’t trust the dealership to wash the car. Whenever I’ve had to take my car in for warranty work, I said please, whatever you do do not wash my car.
