I came from an '09 335i (2-dr, manual) with all the usual mods, approx. 450 hp. Not directly from the Bimmer to the Blackwing, there was a gap of a year or two. Same feeling, though, not a day goes by that I miss it! It was fun, but forgettable.
I can't be the only one wondering: What's the problem with using both keys? Hang both on the shelf by the door, with different keychains or other identifying means. Isn't that what they're for?? This sounds like a trick question. What am I missing?
+1 to the Bronco. Go test drive one at least, just for fun. I've owned a 2-dr Bronco, manual transmission, Black Diamond trim level (didn't see any need for Badlands in my case) for a few years now. Love it, Ford got a lot right in the design (we'll see about reliability). Drove it from...
Don't forget the terrible automatic transmission that makes it painful to drive. Unacceptable for someone with your screen name ("savethemanual"). Will probably hold its value well, though, I agree, due to that V8 that they won't keep around for much longer.
GR Corolla, something like $40k...
I just happened to pick up my '24 GR Corolla (premium) on December 31, 2023 this way. Tracked dealer stock, knew which dealers had one. Wandered in, just to see how motivated they might be, didn't need the car. Ended up striking a deal. :)
I don't believe that's why people buy the CCBs. I don't remember anyone thinking or saying CCBs would stop the car faster, and Cadillac seemed very proud of the steel brakes' ability to withstand track use (not overheat). Reducing unsprung weight is the main benefit.
I'd be more interested in...
No comment on going into gear with engine off, but...
What's this about your "previous car"? The goal is to keep the Bronco for the winters (I see you're in Boston) and add the BW for fun!
Same experience here. Followed the tips in this thread. Made sure I was opted out of everything (never opted in, but apparently that doesn't matter to GM). Did whatever I could at LexisNexis.
I had 59 events in the Telematics section.
9/21/23 is the earliest record.
2/28/04 record appears to...
I hate to sound like an old man yelling at a cloud, but...
The pain of talking to a Sirius XM rep on the phone just isn't worth it to me. Whether it's to get a low rate, or to jump through hoops just to cancel service ... no thank you. I did it for a while, but it got more ridiculous when I...
I don't disagree with you, SM if a blast regardless of what transmission one drives. I only buy manuals but I agree that an auto wouldn't detract from the experience. I'm just making the point that shifting the manual required almost zero cognitive bandwidth given how few gears were needed and...
Although I drove a manual transmission at Spring Mountain, I recall the instructors telling the automatic transmission drivers that they were going to be doing all the track sessions in manual mode. Is that no longer the case? Seemed harder for them, actually, since they had more gears to...
Not sure where to post this, but...

Bad news for GM. The new guy is a grifter who somehow gets in the door and manages to hang on just long enough to make his resume look good for the next con. He'll also bring a lot of low quality...
Well shit, I bought my 5BW from Jim Ellis, and have continued to have it serviced there. Fine so far, for me, but haven't had anything major done. No experience at other Cadillac dealers, this is the first Cadillac I've ever owned--first GM actually!
What happened with your service...
That was a good thread, but didn't we ultimately find that the math was somewhat flawed? Idle Hours were subtracted off of total hours, but revs while idling weren't subtracted off of total revs. Such that a lot of time idling would make it look like you revved your car more! Might not make a...
I don't disagree in general. I guess I don't weigh those factors as heavily. The ride isn't as fun if you add too many people. As for planning, the roads are so good in that part of the country you can just get lost and have a great time on some great roads--probably even *more* fun off the...
