Check for soot on your exhaust tailpipes. My Shelby did not make any actual smoke but it seems the piston rings never seated and oil was in the combustion chamber and got burned up and turned into soot. I think Ford lost lots of money on it, as lots of people had engines replaced. But the second...
My new 2018 GT350 needed a new engine at 5K miles due to oil consumption. Ford made me do two 500 mile drive tests, it was using 1 quart every 125 miles. Then they did a compression and leak down test. Then Ford gave me a new updated engine. The second one did not use much oil.
Be warned that the factory warranty’s on the Shelby 350 are long over now. I’ve not been on those forums in a while, so I don’t know if all the oil consumption problems are done and over

If it’s down to bare metal the whole door will need painted and they might wants to blend the areas next to it. Depending on your color that could be hard to match. Blacks and silvers, and metallic can be very hard to match

Actually I have gotten a few test drives. One was used and the salesman told me to hit it, and I did! I’m quite used to high revving engines as I rode various sportbikes for 36 years that went up to 14k or so rpm. So I’m used to it. I also was a licensed racer in WERA and CCS.
Well I had two Shelby’s within the flat plane crank and six speed that by the grace of god I was able to manually shift. A screaming V8 manual sedan has never been done. It’s time! Think outside that box.
